Read to the end of this article to receive 1 million dollars.
Oh, if only that were true. Alright, now when you are thinking in the right direction for motivating someone, we can talk about call to action.
Ad without CTA is like a movie that ends without any explanation. You really get into the story, and then when you are at the peak of excitement, the cinema lights turn on.
And you are just sitting there filled with some emptiness inside of you, not sure what to do now.
That’s what happens in ad without CTA. It could be the most perfect ad ever, but if the prospect doesn’t know what to do next, he’s gonna forget about it in a matter of milliseconds.
That’s why the CTA is the most important part of the ad. It makes your desired outcome come true.
But, how to actually write a killer call to action?
In this post, I’ll show you exactly how to make a CTA that is so powerful that nobody will be able to resist it. It might not make you a million dollars by the end of this guide, but in the long term it might be even better than that.
How To Write Good Call To Action
Writing a good CTA will make it hard to resist for people to not take the next action in your ads, emails, landing pages and more.
Read further to massively level up your conversion with 6 simple tips (See what I did there?).
Start Your CTA With Strong Verb
You don’t have time nor space to write weak and insecure copy. You have to be direct and tell the audience exactly what you want them to do.
Use strong verbs like: buy, order, download, book your appointment…
Last thing you want to do is say that something exists. “Best World Plastic Surgeon Is In Your City” won’t make people take action as powerfully as “Book Your Appointment With World Best Plastic Surgeon” will.
This change can drastically increase your click through rate.
Use Words That Evoke Emotions
If you want more clicks, you need to get a strong response from your audience. And the best way to do that is by using specific words that trigger emotions in people.
Let’s say someone is planning their family trip and they see CTA saying “Plan your dream vacation today”. They are gonna get hyped up and start imagining their perfect trip. Now they’ll be excited to click the link to your website.
There are few other ways to play on emotions:
Reducing risk and insecurity
Building trust
Creating urgency
Communication value
And don’t forget the exclamation point at the end of your CTA. It can be that last straw that will make their brain automatically take action.
Give Them A Reason To Act
“What is in it for me?”
That’s the question consumers have before taking action. It’s crucial for you to answer them.
How will clicking the button help them in their lives? Help them lose weight? Make more money? Save time?
Good example of this would be “Call us to start losing weight TODAY”. Not only does it have strong action in it “call us”, but it also has a reason for them to call you “start losing weight”.
Use FOMO
This is actually my favorite strategy for building the perfect CTA. Fear of missing out, known as FOMO, is one of the best possible motivators.
When people feel like they could miss out on a great opportunity, they activate panic mode and their finger might just slip and make a purchase.
And one of the most effective ways to use FOMO, is to make a great sale that doesn’t last long.
I am sure you get emails like that all the time, because I do. “Buy now, sale ends in 48 hours” or “Call us now, spots are filling up quickly” (that’s a lie). I won’t even talk about these ads on Black Friday or in the Christmas season.
By provoking Fear of Missing Out, you will for sure get more conversions.
Do A/B test on your CTAs
This good, ancient marketing test is a great way to help you choose between different CTAs.
Before you actually put all your marketing budget into a single call to action, it’s better to test more of them to make sure which one performs the best.
Some things might sound great in your head, but if your audience doesn’t agree, it could be a problem. And the only reliable way to make sure is to actually test it.
For example, you could do it like this:
Start with:
Check out today’s deals!
Fill out a form to get started
Call today for more information
And test against:
Tons of deals at your fingertips
A healthier life starts now!
Don’t miss out, call us today!
Add Numbers Where You Can
People love seeing numbers in ads, whether they are discounts, prices, promotions or whatever. That’s just how we are naturally wired.
Experiment with pricing information in your CTA. You can really never know how the audience will react.
“Shop today for TVs under 300$” would be a great CTA because it not only shows a great price, but it also has elements of FOMO in it.
Or maybe you are running a special offer for one-day delivery. Then you could say “Order by Friday for 1-day shipping.”
Skyrocket Your Sales With Strong Calls To Action
It doesn’t matter if it’s your website, emails, instagram ads or even radio. Good, strong CTA can make a big difference in the final performance of your ad.
So remember these 6 tips when you’ll be writing your next CTA:
Start Your CTA With Strong Verb
Use Words That Evoke Emotions
Give Them A Reason To Act
Use FOMO
Do A/B test on your CTAs
Add Numbers Where You Can
